Share of Children aged 6-15 years Using Information and Communication Technologies
Access to IT is an important resource for the empowerment of men and women in obtaining education, advanced training, employment, establishing their own business and improving economic well-being. Access to IT includes 2 indicators:
- the proportion of Internet users of the total population aged 6-74 years, disaggregated by sex;
- access to mobile phones, disaggregated by sex.
The proportion of Internet users of the total population aged 6-74 years is defined as the ratio of the number of Internet users aged 6-74 years to the average annual population aged 6-74 years, multiplied by 100.
An Internet user is a person who has connected to the Internet at least once during the reporting period, through any device, including computer, mobile phone, game consoles, digital television, and in any place (at work, at home, in public places, etc.). )
Access to mobile phones is defined as the ratio of the number of mobile users to the total population, expressed as a proportion. Mobile broadband connection (mobile communication) refers to the type of telecommunications in which voice, text and graphic information is transmitted to subscriber wireless terminals that are not tied to a specific place or territory.
