Children in Early Childhood Education

Gross enrollment in preschool education is calculated as the ratio of the number of children aged 1-6 years attending preschool organizations to the total number of children aged 1-6 years.

Permanent preschool facilities (working for at least 10 months a year) provide care, supervision, rehabilitation, education and training for children aged 1 to 6 (7) years.

The number of children in permanent preschool facilities is the number of children of preschool age as of the end of the reporting year (December 31) in the lists of the preschool facility, regardless of whether the children visited the preschool facility on this day or not.

The indicator "the number of preschool facilities, total" includes the number of general preschool facilities, sanatorium-type and specialized facilities.

The number of employees at the end of the reporting period includes data on the actual number of all employees of the given preschool facility, including part-time workers. All teaching staff is distributed between the faculty with full- and part-time work.
